Collection: Sonoran Cacti

Sonoran Cacti Collection/strong> launching July 7th at 9PM, Central MN time, with additional restock on July 22nd at 9AM, Central MN time on Elevation Polish.

Barrel Cactus- Dusty blood orange red, holographic shimmer, dries to a semi matte finish, 2-3 easy coats for full coverage.

The Barrel Cactus is an active little guy. It falls over to avoid sunburn and the needles turn a bright red when water is poured over them.

Buckhorn Cholla- Bright Coral, medium sized goldish flake shimmer, easy 2 coat formula.

This woody cactus looks like a scraggly mess but when in bloom, it holds lots of beautiful coral and yellow colored flowers.

Hedgehog Cactus- Pinky Red medium density holographic with an easy 2 coat formula.

Another low growing plant, this unassuming cactus grows vibrant pink/red flowers that close at night and re-open in the morning.

Jumping Cholla- Mint with medium size gold flake shimmer, sparse micro gold shimmer. 2 coats for full coverage

Special care is needed around this cactus, if you happen to brush against it, instead of getting a needle or two in you, the whole stem will detach, leaving you covered in balls of cacti needles.

Queen of the Night Cactus- Mysteriously dark green, shifting violet/red/orange micro shimmer

Blooming for one night only, the Queen of the Night Cactus grows fragrant blooms up to 1 foot long, only to lose the flowers at first light.

Santa Rita Prickly Pear- Blue leaning purple holographic

This multi-colored cactus is popular in landscaping due to its stunning colors and large flowers. The edible fruits it grows are also highly attractive to birds, making it a beautiful object of interest in any garden.

The inspiration for this month’s collection is Sonoran Cacti! Last year when we released the Desert Desserts Collection we were bummed we couldn’t make room for the Sonoran Desert and swore we would revisit it. The Sonoran Desert teems with life found nowhere else and we were especially enthralled by all the varieties of cacti and all their different forms, big and small. We hope you enjoy the collection!

Collection: Going to California

Going to California Collection launching May 7th at 9PM, Central MN time, with additional restock on May 22nd at 9AM, Central MN time on Elevation Polish.

Big Sur- Ocean blue/teal, rose small flake shimmer, gold shimmer, gold flake shimmer, gold micro shimmer, medium thickness formula, 2 easy coats for full coverage.

Mountains rise from the sea, in this isolated stretch of California Coast. Protected from over-development, this coastline remains rugged and beautiful. Teal ocean waters smash against rock outcroppings and rush up the sandy beaches.

Bumpass Hell- Berry/Beet smooth, medium thickness creme. 2 coats for full coverage.

Bumpass Hell is part of an ancient caldera of boiling hot springs and mud pots, as the dry season progresses, the springs turn to mud pits, and the mud pits to steamy fumaroles. All the evaporating water leaves mineral rings of striking colors on the rocks and pool edges. A boardwalk lets you explore closely and keeps you out of danger.

Goat Canyon Trestle- Classic neutral, Dusty desert mauve with shifting shimmers (red to gold to pink), medium thickness formula, 2 coats for full coverage.

This wooden trestle bridge is the worlds largest. Set in the rugged and boulder filled foothills above San Diego, Goat Canyon Trestle is the crowning achievement of the “impossible railroad.” Whether taking the trails less traveled or the illegal rails route, this treacherous hike amazes with tunnels, bridges, canyons, gorges, and intense desert heat.

Meysan Lakes- Periwinkle with subtle pink/violet micro shimmer, thicker style formula. Similar to an older polish “El Cap” with a smoother formula.

Being next door to the tallest peak in California keeps these lakes and the trails surrounding it quiet and serene. While crowds flock to neighboring Mt Whitney and permits are scarce, these peaceful lakes and trails are desolate and unpopulated. After hiking up Meysan Creek, the lakes sit under towering peaks, creating a great sense of isolation.

Moro Rock Trail- Purple (red leaning) with pink subtle shift to red small sized flake shimmer, pink/violet micro shimmer, thicker style formula, 1-2 coats for full coverage.

This trail was one that we have been infatuated with since our I’ll Take the Stairs Collection. The trail leads up the dome shaped monolith of Moro Rock. A 800 foot stair way uses natural surfaces as much as possible and winds up the rock as it utilizes the crevices, cracks, and ledges of the granite trail.

LE: Yeti Kissing Tiny Flowers- Red leaning purple, iridescent violet/pink micro shimmer, medium density holographic.

Limited Edition for the Month of May.

The inspiration for this month’s collection is Going to California! Big waves, big climbs, big deserts, and big trees abound in this big state. Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Sonoma, Malibu, Lake Tahoe are a few of the famous ones but California is filled with so many bucket list destinations that it was very hard for us to narrow down this collection. So we tried to focus on what amazes and drives exploration and found some inspirations that make us want to hit the road. Pack up the polishes, we are “Going to California”!

We hope you enjoy the collection!

Aral Sea- Dusty Coral, silver micro shimmer, holographic. Buttery style formula, 2 coats for full coverage.

Once one of the biggest lakes in the world, years of irrigation diversion has left most of the lake empty. The deep blue waters have been replaced with the pinks and tans of salt and sand. An environmental disaster of awe inspiring proportions, it also possesses a tragic beauty, the vibrant activity of the lake now replaced with the eerie calmness of the desert.

The Deosai Plains- Dusty Sage green, medium sized shifting red/gold shimmer, sparse violet shimmer, medium density holographic. Thicker style formula, 2 coats for full coverage.

Although not located in one of the 5 “true” Stans, the Deosai plains of Pakistan are a wondrous place in the spring. Butterflies swarm and wildflowers and grasses thrive on a vast plateau over 13,000′ high.

Fergana Valley- Dusty Denim Light Purple, Pink/Violet micro shimmer, Hint of silver micro shimmer, medium/low density holographic, 2-3 coats for full coverage.

This Fergana Valley has an ancient history of agriculture. In an area that is otherwise dry and inhospitable, the fertile and moist lands of the valley have long attracted immigrants and invaders. The prosperity of the valley led to the meetings of many civilizations and eventually became an important stop on the Silk Road.

Pamir Mountains- Delicate light blue, violet micro shimmer, pink micro shimmer, medium/low density holographic, 2-3 coats for full coverage

Known as the Roof of the World, the Pamir Mountains have very active glaciers due to the considerable snowfall the area receives. Mudflows, dust storms, extreme temps and frequent severe storms combine with 2,500 earthquakes a year to make the area treacherous and the terrain ever changing.

Seven Bulls- Cornflower blue, sparse blue shimmer, sparse, sparse silver micro shimmer, medium/low density holographic, butter style formula 2 easy coats for full coverage.

Expansive high plains and impressive red rock formations give the skies over Jeti-Ögüz a surreal shade of cornflower blue.

Yangykala Canyons- Medium mushroom taupe, violet sometimes blue micro shimmer, low density holographic. Thinner style formula, 2-3 coats for full coverage. Similar in color to Elevation Polish Khongoryn Els

High plateaus give way to deep canyons from ancient oceans. Remote and inhospitable, millions of years of wind and rain eroded the land, leaving behind a banded canyon of epic proportions and beauty.

Spring has officially sprung! Yayyy!!! After a mainly snow-less winter in Minnesota, we are ready to get on to warmer weather activities. The snow gear is put away and our camping gear is starting to sprawl again! In honor of spring we thought it good timing to introduce our “The Stans” Collection. Sandwiched between some of the highest mountains, the countries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan contain vast tracks of deserts and steppe grasslands. When spring arrives, the land begins to change from dry and drab, and as the earth soaks up the heat and moisture it slowly starts to green and bloom. The dusty tones of rocks and desert persist though and the subdued landscapes contrast greatly with the big open skies. We hope you enjoy the collection!

The inspirations for this month are stairs from locations around the world. Some modern, some ancient, some wild, some civilized, each of these stairs are places that inspire us to keep taking the next step!

Chile!!! A bucket list destination for sure! We are infatuated with the beauty and unique nature of this striking country. We know we have mentioned it before (we even named a collection for it), but watch the movie 180 Degrees South! It is one of our all time favorites and helps provide inspiration and motivation to get out and enjoy the beauty of the natural world. A long, dry, and mountainous country, Chile has a lot of wildness and wonders to explore and a rich and long cultural history. We tried to capture the calm and subdued beauty of Chile in this collection. We hope you enjoy!
