Collection: Life is a Beach

Life is a Beach launching November 7th at 9PM, Central MN time, with additional restock on November 22nd at 9AM, Central MN time on Elevation Polish.

Ipanema Beach- Light milkshake nude scattered holographic.Thinner style formula. thinner coats suggested to prevent streaks.

This beach is hard sometimes hard to see under the colorfully (yet scantily) dressed masses of people that covers this beach on a crowded day

Gulpiyuri Beach- Darkened Taupe Brown, shifting violet micro shimmer, Thinner style formula, 2-3 coats for full coverage.

Walk through a meadow to find this inland beach, surrounded by rocks and shrubs and soil, it is one of the strangest beaches we have seen and is definitely a place we would like to visit.

Miho Beach- Black with Aqua and Sapphire shimmer, Thicker style formula, 2 coats for full coverage. May require a second layer of top coat to smooth depending on how thick your layers are.

Black sands and snow-capped mountains make the blue water seem dark and yet it still glistens and sparkles with depth.

Phra Nang Beach- Aqua, aqua, teal, blue shimmer, scattered holographic. 2-3 coats for full coverage. first coat may be patchy. 2nd and/or 3rd coat evens out the color.

Bright blue waters and white sands surround and invite, while the old monoliths loom over this beach.

Bay of Fires- Dusty lilac, shifiting red/pink to gold shimmer. Black looking shimmer may attach to the sides of the bottle. Thinner style formula. 2-3 coats for full coverage.

As the colors of the morning sunrise recede, one notices that the bright colors of the rocks remain and they provide striking contrast.

River No. 2 Beach- Blueberry medium density holographic. Thinner style formula 2 coats for full coverage. Like most saturated blues, base coat is suggested.

Green foothills and meandering sands deposited from the make the blue waters of this beach pop and sparkle with life.

INSPIRATION:
We once heard an old saying, we think it went, life is a beach, then you dye your hair! Or something like that. This month’s collection is inspired by beautiful beaches from across the world! A day at the beach is always relaxing and reinvigorating for us. The power of the waves and sun, the fluidity of the sand, and the unmoving stability and solidity of the rocks, calms us and reminds us of the cycles of nature. Every beach has its own character and there are so many different kinds of beaches, red sands, black sands, some young, some old, some secluded, some crowded. The diversity and beauty of the beaches around the world made it hard to choose, but we hope you enjoy a few of our favorites!

Collection: Wonderful Washington

Wonderful Washington Collection launching September 7th at 9PM, Central MN time, with additional restock on September 22nd at 9AM, Central MN time on Elevation Polish.

Hall of Mosses- Metallic green gold holographic. Thinner style formula. Color deepens and darkens with added coats. 1 coat is very natural, 2 coats little more holographic, 3 coats and the green color comes out more.

Located within the Hoh River Valley this short hike is both accessible and a perfect example of what makes the area so awe inspiring.

Hoh River Valley- Swamp Olive green crème/jelly with Ultra chrome flake shimmer in gold, green, blue. 2-3 coats for full coverage.

Set in the midst of a temperate rain forest this area can receive 14 feet of precipitation in a year, helping make it one of the greenest places we have ever been and the perfect inspiration for one of our greenest greens.

Mount Rose- Natural Mauve, light dusty purple. Platinum micro flake shimmer with a slight touch of holographic pigment. 2-3 coats for full coverage.

Mount Rose is the destination of a short but demanding hike (3500′, 6mi) and is where the Whiskey Jack birds kept photobombing as we tried to take product shots (much to our delight)! Check out our Instagram post from a couple of months ago.

The Royal Shaft- Royal blue crème/jelly hybrid. Shifting micro shimmer. Mostly looks like violet micro shimmer. Thinner style formula. 3 coats for full coverage.

This rocky spire overlooks the Royal Lake Basin plus… it looks as hilarious as it sounds, lol!

Unicorn Horn- Bright and Vivid blue linear holographic. Thinner style formula. 2-3 coats for full coverage. Light coats seem to do best.

Lower than the parking lot but still a 2000′ climb. Unicorn Horn and unicorn peak is an intimidating, harder than it looks hike and climb that brings you to a neat rock outcropping and an awesome view of both Port Angeles and the mountains of Canada across the Straight of San Juan du Fuca

INSPIRATION:
Wonderful Washington is the inspiration for this month’s collection and we are especially excited about it! Washington state is one of our favorite places to visit and where many of our most memorable hikes, climbs, and adventures have been. However, as we started the process of color creation and making our final picks we realized that more than anything this collection was being inspired by the Olympic National Park/Forest and all the wonders that lie within. So with that in mind, we named all the polishes this month for places in the ONP and decided that we will have to save the rest of Washington for another time 🙂

We hope that everyone has been enjoying their summer as we begin the transition into fall!

Elevation Polish: Inside look Pic de Sotllo (Pyrénées Collection)

Outdooor, Indirect sunlight, Overcast

Outdoor direct sunlight

Color Base: Elevation Polish Pic de Sotllo (Pyrénées Collection)

Base Coat: Butter London Foundation Base Coat

Top Coat: Seche Vite (tainted bottle. please excuse the glitter dot in the pics)

Notes: *Pictured on day #3 of this mani* I can’t for the life of me get this to photograph (same story different day) Pic de Sotllo is a vibrant, almost in your face, Blue Creme. It has no shimmer at all. It’s very pigmented. This formula is a bit thinner than most of my core collection formulas. It’s still very easy to apply and clean up. I’ve shown it in these pictures with 2 coats. 1 coat is usually fine but I did two just to make sure. This polish works well with Matte toppers. Essie worked very well but Chanel matte coat was streaky. You might want to test on a nail wheel before you go about using your favorite matte coat.

Inspiration: The Pyrénées is a mountain range separating Spain from France. Pic de Sotllo Located in this mountain range was an amazing sight. Technically it is on the Spanish side of the Pyrénées. The color was not inspired by the mountain itself but the color you see on a bright summer day at the top. The sky is clean, vibrant, fresh and Blue. You can almost breathe in the Blue.

Availability:

  • July 7th on my website
  • August 7th on my website & etsy
  • September 7th on my website & etsy
  • Possibly back into the polish vault depending on customer feedback.

Cheers to great polishes,

♥ Lulu

Elevation Polish: Owen

Color Base: Elevation Polish Owen

Base Coat: Butter London Foundation Base Coat

Top Coat: Butter London PD Quick Top Coat

Notes: So I couldn’t for the life of me and 100+ photos capture the green shift or sparkle at all in this color. I really do love this color. I can see this one being a “core” elevation color. It’s such an easy blue to wear. BUT in a battle of who wore it best. I would totally lose!!! Who would win might you ask…..? Fingers that is who. She is the writer over at Fingers polish mania. In one of her recent posts “Oh Owen- How I love thee-” she stamps it and funky frenches it. It is by far one of the coolest manis I’ve seen in a long time. If you haven’t checked out her blog. You really should. She does some awesome stamping and color combos at are just too amazing for words.

Elevation Polish: Inside look at Ubsunur & Ubsunur at Night

Ubsunur by itself with no top coat

Ubsunur at night over Ubsunur with Butter london top coat

Close up & what a mini bottle will look like

Color Base: Elevation Polish Ubsunur

Color top: Elevation Polish Ubsunur at night

Base Coat: Butter London Foundation Base Coat

Top Coat: Butter London PD Quick Top Coat

Notes: Ubsunur has a special place in my heart. A small portion of my friends ashes are scattered near ubsunur hollow in Mongolia on the boarder of russia. She was an expert rock climber, mother of 6 beautiful children (my god kiddos), and a lover of all things blue including nail polish. Ubsunur & Ubsunur at night are in honor of her and her 5 year battle with breast cancer in which she ultimately surcome to. This blackened blue with blue shimmer would have been a color she would have loved. At night ubsunur has the clearest view of the sky. The stars twinkle and glow like you have front row access. I really had never seen a sky so clear at night until I saw the sky at ubsunur. Ubsunur at night has a blue base but when applied to the nail is relativity sheer on it’s own. It’s meant to be a topper to all your favorite colors.

Availability:
Ubsunur & Ubsunur at night will be available on my website starting May 7th. It will be available on etsy starting June 7th. I’m also toying with the idea of making Both Ubsunur(s) in mini form as a set. It all depends on feedback so if your interested let me know.

Other Colors: Diego Dalla Palma #68 Moka + Rainbow Honey Koi Pond

Color Base: Diego Dalla Palma #68 Moka

Color Top: Rainbow Honey Koi Pond

Base Coat: Butter London Foundation Base Coat

Top Coat: Seche Vite Quick Dry top coat

Notes: Rainbow honey does it again. I’m normally not a glitter person although you won’t know that from all my blog posts. LOL Rainbow honey brings out the glitter lover in me. I got this one based on the name alone without even looking at what color it actually was. It showed up at my door in awesome rainbow honey super fast shipping style. I opened that box like there was candy inside. Love at first sight. It really does look like a koi pond. If you stare at it just right and blur the glitter you can almost see black, gold & copper orange koi swimming in a pond of blue, green, teal & silver waters. This glitter combo is amazing. I popped this on my current mani but I did some swatches over OPI dating a royal, Dior Nirvana & Deborah Lippmann Fade to black. They all looked gorgeous. There are so many different layering combos you could do with this color.
