This Alaskan fjord is continually threatened by the Hubbard Glacier’s steady advance. Cut off several times in recent history, this fjord will be sealed off with ice from the glacier creating a new lake, and a new eco-system within it.
The inspiration for this month’s collection is Fantastic Fjords! Sea, land, and ice meet, creating deep cut cliffs, panoramic valleys, and astounding views. Their narrow and winding passages entranced early explorers looking for faster routes and hidden cities. Formed by the retreat of glaciers and the rise of ancient sea levels, fjords still fascinate and inspire in modern times. We hope you enjoy the collection!
